New Official Trailer for Anchorman 2

Today, a brand new trailer has been released for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. As you’d expect, it brings our favorite news team back together in a new adventure of crass, unapologetic misogyny. And it is what you would expect. At first, I was worried about how much they showed: full gags, call back jokes, and some characters we hadn’t seen in previous trailers. If this were any other movie, I’d be afraid that I saw too much. But this is Anchorman 2. The sequel to a movie that had so much material they were able to craft a second bonus movie out of it (story be damned, Wake Up Ron Burgundy had some moments just as funny as what was left in the original). I would guess we may not even see some of these bits in the final film, or they would swap out a joke for a different, improvised one.

The trailer doesn’t show much, in terms of plot, but that is hardly why we enjoyed the first one so much. Christina Applegate reprises her role as Veronica Corningstone, the former love of Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell). The rest of the news team is here too, with Champ, Brian, and Brick (David Koechner, Paul Rudd, and Steve Carell respectively) stealing the spotlight in this trailer. Brick’s technical issues near the end, in particular, made me re-watch the trailer a few more times.

Check it out and see for yourself. Will you be going to see this sequel? Any trepidation? Let us know in the comments below!

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is scheduled to be released December 20, 2013.
